Junkkari HJ500
Junkkari HJ500 is a high-power trailed chipper for chipping trees of up to 45 cm in diameter. It is excellently suited for contractors and holds its ground against drum chippers in the same size category. A significant advantage of HJ500 is its very low power demand considering its production and its highly competitive price. The chipper is usually sold on a chassis with 1 axle and no brakes, but is also available as a single chipper unit, for example for fixed installations.
Optimal feed angle for high output
The feed opening of the HJ500 chipper is in a 45-degree angle in the front of the chipper. The tractor operator has an excellent visibility from the cabin towards the feed opening, so that the chipped material is easy to control and working is smooth and effective.
At best, the HJ500 chipper produces more than 100 cubic meters of chips per hour. The quality of chips is even, and the chip size can be adjusted steplessly as needed.
Crane mounted contractor chipper
The HJ500 model with feed chute has two horizontal feed rollers. Alternatively, a conveyor mat can be selected to replace the lower feed roller. The length of the in-feed conveyor is 150 cm. For both versions, the wood must always be fed by a crane loader.
The HJ500 is available with a standard drawbar or a loader drawbar. The loader bed is equipped with pillar and support legs for the flange loader. The recommended load size is approx. 45kNm gross lifting moment and a minimum reach of 7m.
Infeed equipment
Optimal infeed chute for crane loader and conveyor mat
The feed chute is wide and sturdy. A no-stress rotation guard as standard ensures smooth operation. If the tractor rpm drops, the feed stops, the rollers retract the wood away from the blades and automatically resume feeding when the rpm rises back to the working level.
The model with the in-feed conveyor has a longer chute. The length of the conveyor is 150 cm. The HJ500 chipper must always be fed with a crane loader.
Blade disc
Powerful blade disc
The HJ500’s strong blade disc is equipped with two two-part, steplessly adjustable blades that allow the chip size to be precisely determined. From the blades, the chips are transferred to the blower blades on the outer ring of the blade, the chips are crushed and the blades blow the chips through the funnel to the desired location. Optional chipper bush blades are available for both the disc and the chamber.

Chipper functions are controlled by the Wizard C+ controller and the foot pedals that are included. The controller’s display shows, among other things, the rotation speed of the disc and functions such as the chute position and feeding speed are controlled with simple switches. If the operator’s hands are on the loader controls, the chipper feed and top roller (optional on models with feed chute) can be controlled by foot pedals.
No-Stress rotation guard
The No-Stress rotation guard improves the comfort and safety of your work. It automatically stops feeding if tractor RPMs fall below a pre-set limit and automatically resumes feeding when RPMs return to working levels. The No-Stress feature protects the tractor engine and reduces fuel consumption.
Accessories
Adjustability with blade options
The HJ500 chipper is available with an optional brushwood blade set for blade for the disc and for chamber, ensuring high quality chips from all types of wood material.
Hydraulic control of the top roller is standard on the conveyor models, but is also available as an option on feed chute models.
With a 15m extension cable, the chipper control can be moved to the cabin of another machine if the chipper is not fed by the tractor connected to the chipper.
